– Candela Obscura is an ongoing monthly horror drama that follows an esoteric order of investigators as they use centuries of knowledge to fight back against a mysterious source of corruption and bleed. Leveraging gaming as a story mechanic, the series features the Candela Obscura tabletop roleplaying game from Darrington Press, which is built on the Illuminated Worlds system.

Fans familiar with Barry’s works must know that Barry has a strict requirement of the design and craftsmanship of his cards, and each work is full of sincerity.
And this time, Barry invested in a brand new inspiration and style, in a spectacular break through and bringing a new cyberpunk work – Candela 坎德拉.
According to Barry, he began planning in 2017, and after 4 years of trial and tribulations, he finally presented this perfect creation in front of everyone’s eyes.
Candela’s design is inspired by the unit of measurement of light, and in Cardistry, the feeling of light is depicted in a futuristic form.
High-rise buildings, flashing neon lights, technology vs humans, virtual vs reality, an overhead futuristic mechanical world, this is Barry’s cyberpunk world.
Spaceships sailing in the sky, buses, street lights, street signs… It forms a portrait of a city streetscape, and under the bright lights, a mysterious figure cuts through the night sky, and the story unfolds.
The back of the card abandons the traditional white-edged design and replaces it with purple.
Golden mechanical gears form a frame, and there are mechanical figures in the center of the line connection, which seems to be connecting the virtual and the reality.
The gradient ombre purple color scheme has become an integral part of cyberpunk culture, presenting a touch of mystery against a shimmering neon background.
Each card is 100% customized, with circuits and grids as the background, and different suit points project the corresponding AI characters, presenting a full sense of technology.
What is striking is the design of Joker and the human head, hand drawn by the artist, and took more than four years to polish.
The line drawing, text, details, coloring and other parts are constantly revised, reflecting the same high quality as always!
The dazzling characters and backgrounds highlight the combination of appearance and light.
