🌟 The King Arthur playing cards come in two different versions, Emerald Saga and Carmine Cavalier. The tuck case of each editions are different, the box of Emerald Saga is made out of premium matte paper embellished with gold & green foils embossed both on the outside, and inside of the box. While the Carmine Cavalier Edition is made out of premium soft touch paper garnished with red & gold foils embossed on both sides of the tuck case as well.

🌟 The images are depicted using line drawings, reminiscent of old runes, or illustrations in ancient books carrying the legends of the medieval knights. On the top of the box, we see King Arthur wielding a spear, sitting atop of a horse in battle armour. The king is carrying a majestic crown and looks fearlessly ahead of him, ready to fight for his kingdom. Below his image, there is the name of the deck written in large letters. The whole image is encircled with intricate designs of decorated columns and ornamental arches.

🌟 The back of the box features an even more complex design, where we see a mirrored picture of the king on his horse, this time carrying a long staff. The design is centred around an ornamental rosette in the middle of the picture, and the background is adorned by a complicated system of columns. The golden foil on both the front and the back of the box is offset by another layer of details, which is done in green or red foil, a shade darker than the colour of the box.

🌟 In the background, we can make out the outlines of the city, or perhaps the court of King Arthur. The flaps of the box are adorned with the symbol of the king’s famous sword Excalibur. The glory ride of beautiful details does not end on the outside of the box. When you open the box, the inside of it surprises you by a whole new scenery.

🌟 At the centre of it is a lake, surrounded by majestic mountains. Out of the lake emerge two arms, holding Excalibur pointed up towards the skies. We are overlooking this scene from an interior of what seems to be a palace with grand arches, with a multitude of decorations.

🌟 The top flaps feature an image of a goblet, and the symbols of the sun and the moon. The bottom flap shows a scene of the famous Stonehenge. Seeing the incredible detail of the box, one cannot help but wonder what hides inside of the box.

🌟 The backs of the cards are no less fascinating than the box. They are made in the colour corresponding to the colour version of the deck and printed using Bronze Metallic Ink by UPSCC. The overall design of the back is similar to the back of the box, showing a mirrored image of King Arthur riding a horse.

🌟 Looking more closely now, we see the amount of detail that has been put into this image. The king’s expression is stern, as he proudly wears his bejewelled crown, and wields a shield with three dragons on it. Just like the king, his horse is also wearing a sturdy armour, obviously ready for the battle.

🌟 The system of arches behind them reveals a lot of symbols as well. We can see a strong fortress with many towers on the background of high hills, the sun, the moon, and at the centre of the vista is the sword Excalibur, stuck in stone. According to the legend, only a true king could wield the sword, and pull it out of the stone. And the only person worthy of such honour was King Arthur.

🌟 Number Cards : Black & Red pigments infused with Bronze Metallic Ink, and each of the small symbols are filled with the smallest details imaginable. If you inspect the cards really closely, you might find out that each diamond has a tiny image of a lion painted in it, just like hearts have a lovely swan craning its neck to fit the shape. The clubs are designed with an intricate floral pattern, and the spades carry a tiny image of the Excalibur, surrounded by the shields of mighty warriors.

🌟 The court cards are the pièce de la résistance of the entire deck. The first thing that catches the eye is the unified structure of a gold-lined background running on a diagonal of each of the cards. Every one of these backgrounds is unique, showing a slightly different interior of a castle with its majestic structures and stained-glass windows.

🌟 Throughout the vertical axis of the card run the images of the court members, mirrored on the top and bottom half of the card. Each of the characters is absolutely unique, starting from their face, their attire, all the way to the objects that they are carrying. For example, the Queen of Hearts is a young lady with a long braid, dressed in a flowy robe with a veil. She is carrying a branch with blossoms, underlining her feminine character.

🌟 However, the Queen of Clubs is wearing what looks like an attire suited for battle, with a tight corset around her waist. Even though she is holding a rose in one hand, she seems to be carrying a sheath of a sword in her other hand, and there is a skull placed just next to her. Just like the queens, the kings also have different characters, and carry different objects from sharp axes to swords, from a sceptre to a cross-bearing orb, the regalia of a true king.

🌟 The J, Q, K signs are printed in the same font as the number cards and each of the cards has it corresponding suit at the top of it, with as much detail as it appears on the number cards.

🌟 The Ace of Spades is completed in different colours for each of the types of the deck. In the Green version, the ace has a green background and golden outlines and details. For the Red version, it is a light black background, with golden details.

🌟 The design of the two spades is the same, featuring the lake scene we have seen on the inside of the box. The middle axis is created by the hands wielding a sword, its pointy tip reaching past the top of the spade. The whole spade is wrapped in ribbons, where we can see the name of the deck. At the bottom of the spade’s stem is the crown of King Arthur.

🌟 The first thing that strikes us on the Joker cards is that this time, they are called “Jesters”. This cleverly used synonym makes us think of the medieval times right away. The jesters of the King Arthur deck look more sophisticated, as if providing clever advices to our Great King.

🌟 These jesters are clearly enjoying the king’s throne, while he is out in the battle, sitting on it mockingly while drinking from a large goblet. One of the jesters is designed in green, and the other in red in each of the decks. The jester cards are a true pleasure for the eye, with their countless little details making up the ornamental throne, as well as a stripy attire of the jesters, all the way down to their shoes with curling points.

🌟 It is clear that the King Arthur deck has been designed with great care, and Studio Muti worked tirelessly to deliver the greatest visual experience. The whole deck is sleek and absolutely unique. So, if you are a fan of the medieval times, love legends, or simply feel the bravery in your heart, this deck is the right option for you. Wield it, just like King Arthur pulling Excalibur out of the stone. Just like the king, you are worthy!
