Description
🌟 Cold Light is extremely rare as it is a limited edition of 588, Acelion / King Star have a policy never to reprint. It was only available for sale on 2 opportunities:
– 28 Jul 2020 – If you got a Cyberpunk: Origin Gift Box that included
1 x Cyberpunk: Origin Standard,
1 x Cyberpunk: Origin Laser Gilded Edges
1 x Secret Deck that may or may not have Cold Light (not 100%, not even 50% guaranteed. It was a very very low chance)
– The interesting tidbit is that at that time, Cold Light had not finished printing. There was simply a plain red box with a note saying once it was printed, you would receive it in the mail at a later stage.
– 13 Sep 2020 – King Star’s debut Cloud / Sea series sold a half brick of 6 decks
5 x Qiong Gou (Silver 9 Tailed Fox)
1 x Cold Light
– This was 100% guaranteed
– The last interesting tidbit is that from printing to sales, there were only 2 official photos. This was a truly a deck of faith! People simply grabbed it without any idea what it looked like, or even that it had Red Gilded Edges.
– 9 Mar 2020, King Star finally released a complete look of this out of print deck.
– My source is from a reliable reseller who was operating a physical shop but had to close down & liquidate due to pandemic repeated lockdowns. Business was bad, and he finds it hard to switch online. All decks have gone through extensive QC checks and are in perfect condition.
Unfortunately due to hoarders and speculators, the price of King Star / Acelion decks have now bloated up. Please note that this price was not set by me. Moving forward, I hope that we can all work to get King Star decks at a more reasonable price and prevent this practice. To me, King Star and Acelion decks are beautiful and exquisite works of art, they are not gold bars to be treated like a commodity!
❓I actually don’t encourage anyone to get this, unless you really want to. But, for those who were lucky to get this before, at a more reasonable price, I hope the backstory enhances your appteciation of your deck! Meanwhile let’s all enjoy the amazing artwork!
🌟 [冷光] Cold Light, a hidden deck produced by KING STAR specially for Cardistry – They’ve removed the number points, strengthening the visual impact of front and back fannings. Each deck has Blood Red Gilded Edges for spectacular flourishes.
🌟 [Cold Light] The design is inspired by horror movies, and the artistic elements of the tuck box, the card face, and the cards all have artistic elements that pay tribute to horror movies classics. The overall effect is pretty cool.
🌟 The design of the cold light tuck box uses the early Acelion logo of KING STAR, before it was renamed. Featuring King Star’s signature double-layer slide box design, the inner and outer paintings are linked. Together they tell a complete story.
🌟 Blood Red Gold Foil is featured on the outer tuck, inner tuck, and card backs. The big round hot stamping in the inner box is the most eye-catching. The red gold foil on the back of the card fits the overall theme very well.
🌟 Jokers: You can guess which two movies they pay tribute to, right?
